The Message Sounds Right. So Why Doesn’t It Land?

"The message sounds right. so why doesn't it land?" a small waveform in the upper right.

Executive Communication Coaching
for Founders, Execs, and High-Stakes Teams

You walk out of the meeting thinking, That went well.
The data was tight. The message was clear. People nodded. Maybe even smiled.
And then… nothing.

No follow-up. No traction. No movement.
You’re left wondering: Did they hear what I meant?

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. It’s something I see all the time in my executive communication coaching sessions, especially with founders and fast-moving leaders who care deeply about getting things right.

And here’s what most of them try first:
They adjust the deck.
Tweak the wording.
Rehearse longer.

All smart moves. But often, they’re solving the wrong problem.

Because the issue isn’t usually the message.
It’s how the message carries.

The Real Leverage Is in the Delivery

That might sound obvious, but I don’t mean “be louder,” “slow down,” or “say it like you mean it.” I mean the way your voice carries presence.
How tone, pacing, and even silence can either reinforce your leadership, or undercut it.

I come from the world of voice performance. I’ve coached Emmy winning actors, narrated for major TV shows, and spent years helping blind audiences experience film through audio description. In that world, if your voice doesn’t carry the story, nothing else matters.

It turns out, leadership is no different.

So I built Executive Intent Design to help leaders bring clarity, calm, and authority to how they speak, especially when it counts most.

What Is Executive Communication Coaching, Really?

It’s not “sounding polished.” It’s sounding like you.
Just the version of you that lands when the stakes are high.

In coaching, we’ll usually work through:
Clarity: Saying less while meaning more.
Presence Under Pressure: Holding the room without pushing harder.
Authentic Congruence: Making sure your delivery matches your leadership.
Resonance That Moves People: So folks don’t just hear you, they act.

“How Do I Know If I Need This?”

If any of these hit, it’s probably time:
– You lead smart teams, but too many messages bounce.
– You’ve got clear ideas, but they don’t always stick.
– You’re confident in what you say, but less so in how it’s landing.
– You want to lead without over-explaining, over-talking, or repeating.
– You’ve got a big keynote or board meeting, and you want your voice to carry real weight.

And if you’re asking:

“How can I find a coach to improve my executive communication?”

Start by looking for someone who’s not trying to rewrite your script, but help you hear where things drift-and fix it fast. That’s the heart of what I do.

Real Tools, No Fluff

My approach is simple, fast, and built around the way execs actually work.
Strategic Voice Audit: You send a few recordings. I send back what’s landing (and what’s not).
Leadership Resonance Sprint: A 30-day coaching sprint for high-pressure communicators.
Clarity Calls & Live Calibration: Quick tune-ups or prep for big moments.
Train the Trainers: For internal comms teams and DEI leaders who support execs.

There’s no “public speaking 101” here. This is about congruence over performance. About sound aligning with leadership.
And when that happens, the shift is obvious:
People follow faster. Trust builds sooner. And your voice finally matches the weight of your ideas.

A Quick Personal Note

Years ago, a friend of mine lost his sight during cancer treatment. The way we stayed connected? Watching shows together, with audio description. Those moments taught me how much voice matters. Not just for information, but for connection.

That’s why I do this work. Because in leadership, connection is the nuance.
And when your voice carries authentically, and clearly, people don’t just hear you.
They move with you.

Your voice is your leadership. Let’s make sure it lands.
