For the first time in Voice Arts Awards history, 3 categories of audio description narration are included, and the nominees include blind and sighted voice professionals.
In 2019, Roy Samuelson was nominated for his audio description work in the SOVAS awards under their Narration category. Since then, many VO pros have become aware of audio description, a form of expertise that brings access to visuals for blind and low vision audiences in film and television, and many more areas.
